Press Release Body = Burgess Hill, UK, February 1, 2007 - Technetix Group, European leader in developing and supplying networking solutions, secured three prestigious awards with their unique Adapt-x solution at the IIPSEC show in Coventry.
IIPSEC 2007 International IP in Security Exhibition and Conference, is the only event dedicated to innovation in security technology. This year it was held from the 22nd to the 25th of January in Coventry. In words of the organizers, "Innovation is key to the continued success of technology led businesses and the Security & BMS sector is no different. The IP in Security Awards programme recognises this fact and believes that innovation should be rewarded and promoted to both our peers, customers and the industry at large, presenting the benefits of the technology and developing new markets."
Competition was fierce, with all the contestants presenting some very innovative and technically advanced solutions, so Technetix were delighted to secure all three of these prestigious awards.
How the judges commented on the awards:
Best Hardware Product Winner: Technetix - Adapt-x "Has the potential to provide huge savings when transferring between analogue and digital systems" - "a simple but effective idea - why didn't I think of it"
IP User Group Award: Technetix - Adapt-x "Once again a winner, this clever piece of kit polled the most number of votes from the IP UserGroup membership"
Winner of the IP in Security Award for 2007 "Providing a good upgrade path this product could be the "big time" catalyst to digital migration"
The solution: The revolutionary Adapt-x solution was launched by Technetix at the IIPSEC show in January 2007. This unique solution enables the upgrade of analogue CCTV networks to IP capability while reducing installation costs and operational disturbance by using the existing coax cable. Two of the main issues faced when upgrading CCTV networks from analogue to IP are the cost and inconvenience of having the coaxial cable removed and replaced with CAT5 or fibre optic cabling and supplying power and guaranteeing continuity in recording in the case of power failures. The Adapt-x range addresses both these issues. The products in the Adapt-x range allow high speed Ethernet traffic and DC power, to be carried over the existing analogue coaxial cable of distances up to 350 metres. This is done simply by installing a small device, known as an Intelligent Ethernet Coax Adapter, at both ends of the coaxial cable. This single pair of devices carries both power and Ethernet over a single coax cable. In summary, some of the key features of the solution are: * Uses existing coax cabling up to 350 metres * Provides unique DC Powering options end to end over the same cable * Supports multiple IP cameras/devices * Supports high definition cameras * Supports any network device - fully transparent 100BaseT Ethernet * Simple and easy to install with no set-up involved * Rack mount option for control room scenarios * Extended Uninterruptible Power Supply capability from central end to remote cameras
The technology: The revolutionary technology behind the company's new Adapt-x range is the Technetix cXcomm100 technology (patent pending), which enables propagation of wire speed Ethernet and DC power over existing coaxial cabling without the speed or delay limitations that carrier/modem based technologies introduce.
